Alexandre Camacho consolidates leadership

With the accomplishment of the previous to last section and with four Special Stages to go until the end of the Rally Vinho Madeira, Alexandre Camacho is becoming, more and more, better positioned to achieve that which would be his third consecutive victory in this competition. The Skoda Fabia R5 driver widened, this Saturday’s morning, the advantage over “Pepe” Lopez who, in his turn, also widened his advantage over Bruno Magalhães who is currently occupying the lowest spot at the podium.                 The sixth section was marked by the retirement of Giandomenico Basso, after a slight exit from the road when passing de Câmara Lobos. This led to the promotion of Miguel Nunes to fourth place. José Pedro Fontes is now sixth, managing to resist, as he did yesterday afternoon, the strong attack promoted by João Silva. Third best in the National Championship, Armindo Araújo is seventh, ahead of Pedro Paixão who continues to recover positions and has even overpassed Miguel Barbosa this morning. The top ten is completed with Pedro Meireles at the wheel of his VW Golf GTi R5.
