Alexandre Camacho is once again the leader of the Rali Vinho da Madeira

Alexandre Camacho, with a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, regained the lead of the Rali Vinho da Madeira in the previous to the last section of the Rali Vinho da Madeira, overtaking Bruno Magalhães, the previous leader of the classification, who was struggling with tyre problems, too soft, in his Hyundai i20N Rally2. Miguel Nunes also had an excellent performance in the morning of the last day of the competition, winning all the four special stages, establishing two new records, climbing two positions and he is now on the podium. In fourth place now follows José Pedro Fontes, previously third in his Citroën C3 Rally2, followed by Armindo Araújo, further away from his rival in the National Championship of the specialty. Bernardo Sousa kept the sixth position ahead of the national champion Ricardo Teodósio. Eighth, Miguel Correia got closer to Teodósio. The Italian Simone Campedelli recovered one more step in the classification and is ninth. Pedro Almeida completes the top ten.

João Silva shines on two-wheel drive

João Silva continues to shine in the classification reserved to the users of two-wheel drive vehicles. The Peugeot 208 Rally4 driver has an advantage of more than one minute over Vítor Sá, who is second in a Citroën DS3 R3T. Usually the leader of the class, Rui Jorge Fernandes withdrew during the fourth section with mechanical issues in his Renault Clio R3T. The third place in the category is occupied by Miguel Caires with a Renault Clio Rally4. In what concerns the classification reserved to the competitors of the Regional Championship of this sports, Alexandre Camacho leads, followed by Miguel Nunes and Filipe Freitas, despite the difficulties of the latter with the "resource" tyres fitted in his Porsche 997 GT3 and the difficulty of use of this vehicle in the weather conditions felt in the second passage through Cidade de Santana. Gil Freitas, with a Hyundai i20 R5, is fourth. Another highlight on Friday was the good time achieved by Adruzilo Lopes, eighth in a Toyota Yaris GR, in a qualifying that caused many changes of positions.

Bruno Magalhães leads Rali Vinho da Madeira

Bruno Magalhães is once again in the leadership of the Rali Vinho da Madeira, after a second day full of emotion. Two changes of leadership and four winners of special stages were some of the exciting aspects of the conclusion of the first leg of the Club Sports da Madeira organization. After the super special of Avenida do Mar yesterday, Magalhães and his Hyundai i20N Rally2 lost the lead after the first round through Campo de Golfe and Palheiro Ferreiro. The first place was then in the possession of Alexandre Camacho, author of a strong attack on Friday morning. The Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo driver remained in the lead until the previous to the last special stage. The turnaround came at the fulfilment of the City of Santana 2, with rain and fog, in full contrast with the previous weather conditions and at a stage when the main competitors were fitting hard tyres. Magalhães was the driver less affected by the weather change and beat his direct opponents by a big difference. He got back to the front with a good lead over the rest of the caravan. Alexandre Camacho concluded the day in second place, ahead of José Pedro Fontes, driving a Citroën C3 Rally2, another driver not very affected by the weather conditions and who, before that, had already overtaken Armindo Araújo, fifth in the middle of the rally. Bernardo Sousa, who set several good times, is sixth, followed by Ricardo Teodósio and Miguel Correia. The Italian Simone Campedelli, who had lost a lot of time with acceleration problems, returned in the last special stage of the day to the top ten classified. The Rali Vinho da Madeira has tomorrow its third and last day of competition for the dispute of the second leg, a double passage through the Special Stages of Câmara de Lobos, Ponta do Sol, Ponta do Pargo and Rosário.

An upturn in the City of Santana

The dispute of SS 9 - Cidade de Santana 2 brought an upturn in the classification of the Rali Vinho da Madeira. The classification disputed around the typical city of the north of the Island was marked by rain and fog when most of the competitors had hard tyres to face the high temperatures felt until then. Bruno Magalhães was better than his competition, he won the Special Stage and managed to beat his direct opponents by a wide margin. The Hyundai i20N Rally2 driver returned, as such, to the command of the classification of the race organized by the Club Sports da Madeira and has eight seconds ahead of Alexandre Camacho, second, after being sixth in those standings. Third is now José Pedro Fontes, followed by Armindo Araújo, two drivers who also did well in the last special stage of the day. Miguel Nunes, previously third, fell to fifth.

Top 3 of the Rali Vinho da Madeira unchanged

The first round through the northern Special Stages brought no changes to the momentary podium of the Rali Vinho da Madeira. With the best time in Boaventura 1 and another good time in Cidade de Santana 1, Alexandre Camacho, driving a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, increased again his advantage in the competition organized by the Club Spots da Madeira and has now a 14,6 seconds lead over Bruno Magalhães with a Hyundai i20N Rally2. The victory in Santana, still a less good time in Boaventura, led Miguel Nunes to lose time to the race leader. Regarding the Portuguese Championship, Bruno Magalhães keeps the lead but José Pedro Fontes did so far, a good performance in this section and overtook Armindo Araújo. The remaining positions in the top ten remain unchanged.
