Giovanni Fariña won two-wheel drive

Hailing from Tenerife, Giovanni Fariña was the best among the two-wheel drive drivers, a category in which the frontrunners have always used Peugeot 208 Rally4s. Also competing in the Peugeot Rally Cup Ibérica, Alex Español led Rali da Madeira for most of the Rally but ultimately retired after a crash with the finish line in sight. His retirement allowed Fariña to take the lead, a position he held for the remainder of the season.

Behind him, 34 seconds behind, was Miguel Garcia, who also benefited from Español's retirement and the problems that caused Iago Gabeiras to drop significantly in the standings. Third best, 11.9 seconds behind Garcia, was Ukrainian Anton Korzun, who went on to collect the most points for the Portuguese championship in the category. Madeiran Vasco D. Silva finished fourth in this group, 3.6 seconds behind Korzun, the only driver to have a Renault Clio Rally4 at the top of this division. Just 0.5 seconds behind the local driver, Ricardo Sousa rounded out the top five.
