Alex Español, driving a Peugeot 208 Rally4, was in the lead of the two-wheel drive standings after the first two special stages Rali da Madeira. The Spanish driver held a one-tenth-of-a-second lead over Madeiran Vasco Diogo Silva in a Renault Clio Rally4. Third in the category was Guilherme Meireles in another Peugeot 208 Rally4, a model also driven by Anton Korzun, who was leading after the opening Special Stage. In another Peugeot car, Spaniard Miguel Garcia was fifth.
