This is the week when Madeira once again experiences one of the most memorable moments in its sporting calendar and collective memory. Rali da Madeira returns to our roads, reviving a tradition with over six decades of history and reaffirming its status as the premier event in regional motor racing and an unmissable highlight on the national and international motor racing scene.

The stage is set. At the service park, during technical scrutineering, in the parc fermé and along the stages across our island, you can already feel the anticipation of the thousands of enthusiasts who, generation after generation, make this event a true celebration of the passion for motorsport.

A celebration that has also had a significant impact on boosting the regional economy, the hotel and catering sectors, retail and countless other sectors of activity.

I would therefore like to express my gratitude to the organisers, the drivers, co-drivers, technical teams, sponsors, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, volunteers and all those who, through their professionalism and dedication, have made it possible to hold yet another edition of this iconic event.

I also hope that the 2026 Rali da Madeira will once again be a huge sporting and organisational success, enjoyed by the people of Madeira with enthusiasm, a festive spirit and, above all, a sense of responsibility and in complete safety.

May the best teams win. And may Madeira, once again, show the world why it hosts one of Europe’s most iconic and prestigious motor racing events.
