This replaces the previous Rosário special stage. It now begins at the location that gives it its name—on Estrada Padre José T. Marques—climbing slightly toward the vicinity of Rosário, where it turns left onto the ER 208. It then crosses the island along the imaginary line between São Vicente and Ribeira Brava, running from Rosário to Serra d’Água via Encumeada. The climb to Encumeada demands skillful driving, while the dizzying descent to the finish requires great daring. It is one of the rally's most popular special stages for spectators.

Via Rosário: at the junction of the ER 208 and Estrada Padre José T. Marques. As there are no alternative access roads, arriving well in advance is required.
