Official Statement: Choupana Jump Included in the 2026 Rali da Madeira
Inaccurate information has been circulating on social media in recent hours suggesting that the traditional Choupana jump is not part of the 2026 Rali da Madeira route.
The Organising Committee wishes to clarify that this information is false.
Contrary to what is being reported, the route for the Palheiro Ferreiro Special Stage still includes the iconic Choupana area—one of the most celebrated spots among Rali da Madeira enthusiasts. The stage layout continues to feature this spectacular section, preserving a tradition that is integral to the event's identity.
The information currently being shared refers to a change made for the 2020 edition, when the route was temporarily modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent large crowds from gathering. That decision applied exclusively to that specific edition and does not apply to the 2026 Rali da Madeira.
The organisers therefore urge all fans and media outlets to consult only official Rali da Madeira channels before sharing information about the event.
Rali da Madeira returns to the region's roads from July 30th to August 1st, once again showcasing some of the most spectacular stages on the international scene—including the highly anticipated run through Choupana.
