This special stage was introduced in 2025. It is characterized by a significant elevation gain between the start and finish lines, 1,360 meters. The special stage begins a few meters above Madalena do Mar beach and climbs, along the Torreão road, in an area with some hairpin turns, to the ER222 road. From there, it descends to Ribeira da Madalena and continues to the junction with the Dr. Tito Cabral Noronha road. It climbs to Carvalhal, an area traditionally with a large audience, and from there, the qualifying stage resumes its climb to Paúl da Serra. This section is characterized by very fast sections, interspersed with some hairpin turns and others requiring great attention, until reaching the beautiful plateau.
